During the month of February, the ‘future of Irish golf’ set up camp at Camiral Resort to train for the upcoming season.
Six junior members of The Irish Ladies Golf Union, aged between 14-18, accompanied by three of the team’s coaches, spent a week at the European Tour Destination to hone their skills at one of Europe’s best golf training facilities.
Irish national coach David Kearney said: “We selected Camiral Resort as our practice venue because of the calibre of its courses, practice facilities, accommodation and hospitality – a superb ‘one-stop shop’ resort that has everything a teaching coach could ask for.
I first came out to this venue in 2000 on a PGA Pro-Am trip and was impressed by what it had to offer then. I have since been back numerous times, bringing a variety of groups of varying skill levels, and have always been impressed with the service and attention to detail, not to mention the access to the growing number of world-class training facilities, all available in one place.
Fifteen years on and Camiral Resort has developed into one of Europe’s turnkey practice venues, offering fantastic amenities, which include a recently extended two-tier driving range, ideally set up for coaching small groups, as well as a unique 2,000sqm approach play area with five different sand-type bunkers and different grass types.
In addition, the venue’s Stadium and Tour Courses offer the right mix of challenges — the first providing a ’true test of golf’ with its more challenging layout that requires strategy and shot-selection thinking, while the latter is an ideal coaching course.
Combined with the excellent service Monica and the team offer from the moment we land at the airport, this is a great, hassle-free experience for any coaching group.”
