Camiral Resort, already acclaimed as a World Top 100 Golf Course by Golf World – one of only two Spanish courses to make the rankings, is delighted to announce that it has been further decorated by the influential publication in its recent Continental European Top 100 Courses 2011-2012 listing. Golf World ranked Camiral’s Stadium Course eighth overall, results compiled from Tour players, influential journalists and golf officials across Europe.
Commenting on the achievement, David Plana, Camiral Resort Corporate Director and CFO, said: “Camiral continues to make headlines around the world as a must-play course that offers a very unique experience to visitors. We are always very grateful for any accolades we receive and this latest Golf World ranking is a strong endorsement of Camiral’s appeal to professionals, amateurs and all visitors from around the globe.”
Adding to this, Miguel Girbes, Camiral Resort Golf Manager, said: “To be able to maintain our single-figure position in the rankings of Golf World’s Continental European courses – not to mention in its World Top 100 Courses – is no mean feat. Today’s Camiral Resort is the culmination of over 20 years’ of dedication and commitment to deliver on the vision of its founders – to ring to market a masterpiece created stroke by stroke by Spanish golf legend Angel Gallardo and Ryder Cup star Neil Coles. To be recognised amongst Europe’s best is truly an honour.”
Camiral Resort – a two-time Spanish Open host – has once again been selected as the venue for this season’s European Tour’s Qualifying School Final Stage – the fourth successive year it has hosted the event. Both the popular Tour Course and Stadium Course will host the six-round tournament from December 10th-15th. Keep a close eye on Life at Camiral for updates on this event.
