Golfers Travel in High-Speed Style to Costa Brava
Fear of flying? Don’t enjoy driving? Introducing the newest form of transport to Camiral: The Perpignan Figueres rail link
The rail link which opened in January this year, with an extension planned to Barcelona in 2012, connects the Costa Brava to Europe’s high speed rail network. The railway has transformed travel in the area, by decreasing travel time between Perpignan to Figueres, Costa Brava’s second city to just 23 minutes! Owners at Camiral can travel on this new link alighting at Girona station which is just 20 minutes from Camiral. In this way, the rail link is useful not only for travelling to Camiral but also for sightseeing while in the area.
Further, when the rail link to Barcelona is complete the journey time from Paris to Girona will be just over 5 hours and 30 minutes. So, if you are the only one in the family who loves to golf what better way to appease the rest of your group than by adding an additional destination to your trip, that’s simply a train ride away?
However, with so many activities in the surrounding area of Camiral, coming to the destination as a non golfer is never a problem. As Jaume Marín, Director of Marketing at Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona said, “Costa Brava is much more than just a golfing destination…As the birthplace of Salvador Dali, the region is steeped in culture and history, and offers beautiful and diverse landscapes, an abundance of activities, as well as a vast range of gastronomy delights. There is something for every visitor wishing to experience the Costa Brava.”
Marín, further went on to say, ‘We are very excited about the opportunities the new high speed train line offers to Franco-Spanish tourism, and to visitors from across Europe wishing to experience the Costa Brava, its famous gastronomy and cultural heritage, as well as its quality of golf courses.’
It is of course the quality of these golf courses, which has caused the area to be recognized as one of the finest golf destinations in Europe; with Camiral Resort ranked among the Top 10 Courses in Europe and a World Top 100 Golf Course.
