Camiral Resort is currently supporting the Real Federación Española de Golf (RFEG)’s bid to bring the The 2022 Ryder Cup to Catalunya. Following an evaluation process, RFEG selected Camiral Resort’s Stadium Course as its preferred choice for hosting the iconic match.
Recently awarded European Golf Resort of the Year 2015, Camiral Resort played host to The European Tour’s 2014 Open De España and has recently extended its relationship to host The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage for a further three years, taking its relationship with this event to 10 years in total.
Camiral Resort’s selection by the RFEG as its preferred choice for hosting what has come to be known as the biggest golf tournament on the planet crowns a year that saw Spain’s no.1 golf course be awarded European Golf Resort of the Year 2015 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) and host a successful Open De España, won by Spanish icon Miguel Àngel Jimenez.
2014 was also the year that Camiral Resort extended its relationship to host The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage event for a further three years, taking its relationship with this event to 10 years in total.
Camiral Resort Chief Executive Officer, Julio Delgado, said: “It has been a remarkable year for Camiral Resort. From hosting a momentous Open de España in May to being selected to continue to host The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, our reputation as a world-class golf venue goes from strength to strength.
“We have worked extremely hard and invested significantly in recent years to make Camiral Resort unique. It is much more than a golf resort; it is a global golf destination – and we have plans to further develop our courses and luxury property offering to introduce to the world the next generation of golf resort.”
