The European Tour properties are a portfolio of world class golf venues and here at Camiral we could not be more proud to be a chosen European Tour destination.
Committed to celebrating the game of golf and viewed as one of the game’s foremost organisations The European Tour, since its inception in 1971 has expanded to become widely recognized as the game’s Global Tour. This is evident by the countries visited on their schedule, the rich diversity of their Members and the global reach of their broadcast partners.
The growth and development of The European Tour is well documented. In 2010 The European Tour International Schedule consisted of 48 tournaments in 27 destinations with prize money of €132,204,838 – compared to a total prize fund of €350,000 when the Tour was born in 1972. The European Challenge Tour and the European Senior Tour had prize funds of €4,826,454 and €9,078,267 respectively in 2010. The European Challenge Tour consisted of 25 tournaments in 18 countries and the European Senior Tour 20 tournaments in 15 countries. The funds drawn from sponsors and suppliers, television and ticket sales, hospitality and governments, support a thriving international community in which The European Tour actively promotes the game at all levels.
With such a history to maintain, The European Tour’s partner venues, European Tour Destinations and Courses, all have the stamp of tournament quality and contain a level of on and off-course facilities guaranteed to provide a memorable golfing experience for members and visitors alike. With facilities located throughout Europe, partner venues operate in close association with The European Tour and have a range of attractive golf, real-estate and accommodation options for visitors, guests and groups.
Partner venues currently include the London Golf Club, host venue for the European Open Championship and Estonian Golf & Country Club, nestled in an archeological landscape near Tallinn, Europe’s Cultural Capital of 2011. The venue portfolio will be selectively expanded over coming years to incorporate a select number of prestigious golf and real estate venues in whose development European Tour Properties will play a key role. As big fans of The European Tour, we look forward to seeing which courses join their growing portfolio in the future…!
